In recognition of the exceptional contribution of its employees, The CaPTA Group runs a Staff Excellence award scheme.

Nominations can be made from within staff teams, or from satisfied customers who feel they have experienced an outstanding and commendable service from a particular employee.

The frequency in which awards are given within each company depends on the size of the staff team to make it a fair and equitable process.

• Rainforestation - A monthly winner is selected from across all of the park's different departments (12 winners per year).
• CaPTA - A winner is selected every 2 months, from all employees based at the CaPTA depot whose job role is not specific to just one company (eg. accounts, sales, reservations, administration, human resources, management) (6 winners per year).
• Tropic Wings - A winner is selected every 2 months from all Tropic Wings-specific employees (eg. Coach Drivers) (6 winners per year).
• RnR Adventures - A winner is selected every 2 months from all guides and middle management employed by RnR Adventures in both RnR White Water Rafting and Jungle Tours (6 winners per year).
• The Rainforest Habitat - A winner is selected every 2 months from across all of the different departments (6 winners per year).
• Cairns Wildlife Dome - A winner is selected every 3 months from the staff team (4 winners per year).
• Australian Butterfly Sanctuary - A winner is selected every 3 months from the staff team (4 winners per year).

Annual finalists are then chosen from each company following an interview and selection process, and from this group of 7 finalists, an annual winner is selected.

Annual Winners

2006-07 - Shauna Lep

In May 2007, CaPTA Education Sales Manager Shauna Lep was selected as the very first annual winner out of six finalists from over 300 employees across The CaPTA Group of Companies.

As well as overseeing all of CaPTA’s education programmes for schools and other learning institutions, Shauna is a valued member of the Sales team and a dominant presence in the Japanese market.

Shauna won her choice of a holiday to either Auckland or Hong Kong, including flights and accommodation for two and $1,000 spending money.
