Traineeships

The CaPTA Group continues to show its strength in offering diverse traineeships across the Tropical North region including guiding, retail, sales, accounts, administration, horticulture, and food and beverage to name just a few.

The Capta Group of Companies, as a leading tourism operator in the Tropical North, in partnership with Career Training Institute of Australia is now a training organisation that delivers accredited training in Tourism, Hospitality, Business and Captive Animal Management.

Training is conducted by qualified staff working within the Tourism and Hospitality industry that have the passion to share their knowledge with others. This has created a high level of awareness of the importance of training to the industry and allows staff to share their knowledge and skill with trainees while still maintaining their position within the business.

CaPTA trainees and employees range greatly in nationality, age and skill level and our training philosophy is to focus on developing skills that are transferable within the tourism industry, as the Far North Region as a whole will benefit. Our trainees range in age from 16 through to 57. We aim to provide quality training and provide people with excellent practical skills in their preferred area of expertise along with developing exceptional customer service. It is also imperative that our staff and trainees gain a broad understanding of tourism and recognise its importance to our economy.

Our innovative programs include the opportunity for career development for existing employees, assisting our staff with professional development and formalising their already diverse skill set.

We also have a school based "pathway" program designed to assist student in Years 11 and 12 to work towards a professional career in either hospitality or tourism.

We have an Indigenous Employment Strategy specifically tailored to assist Indigenous employees with long term employment goals, whilst at the same time as providing them with support from an Indigenous Mentor and linking into many Indigenous community organisations to assist in developing the most appropriate format for training and development.

The CaPTA Group of Companies also provides training opportunities by offering structured work placement to Year 10 school students for one week periods from both high schools across the region to “try before they buy”. This allows them to determine if it is a career path in Tourism or Hospitality is something they may wish to pursue.  This may lead to a school based traineeship following the career path of their choice.

CaPTA will continue expanding its training, traineeships and career development to ensure that its companies offer prospective employees fantastic opportunities and a great working environment with an Employer that strives to stand out from the rest.
